Evaluation 4-Perfect Audience Member
This would be a style of our audidence member. Our Perfect audience member would be a young adult; this is because our films story line and characters are edgy and Modern. When preparing for the film we were inspireda huge amount by skins - a contraveral British TV programme about teenagers. I did some research about my target audidence and found out that 25% ‘definitely agree’ that they “watch more TV on my computer these days.” This was higher than the 19% among all 16 to 24s. This means that my marketing of the film when advertising should be directed towards the internet and less towards the television.
This would be the music our audience member would be interested in, semi mainstream with some indie, rock, bass and dance. I think that This T in The Park line up is a good example. Our objective in our opening titles was to attract these type of people. The use of colour fades we used was specifically to target this audience, aswell as the font, font colour and of course the filming and editing , but above all the fun, upbeat and funky music, as we gathered from our feedback that the music was a big attraction.

Evaluation 2-How does media product represent social groups?
"Effy" from skins is a character that has the look and attitude that we looked for when deciding on how to dress our girl character.
As you can see she wears alot of make up and dresses provocativly.
This is how we dressed our girl character, having her outfit and character based on Effys.

Some Changes...
Unfortunately our original plan of having Teresa Alba Vasquez as our girl character didn't pan out, as she seemed to never be free when we needed her for filming. Therefore I took her place, simply because we could film when we wanted to and werent relying on someone else to be free. An advantage i found of doing it myself, was that i was able to act exactly how Catriona and I had wanted.
We also decided not to use any of our out door location shots, as the weather was never consistent on the days we were filming. We also thought that we wanted to keep the opening quite simple. So we only used our indoor footage.
Another change that has been made is the music. We have found a song called Strutting from Electronic Grooves Volume 2 that we found on Freeplaymusic.com. I feel that this song fits better with our theme and the fast beat will instantly attract our target audience.

Casting Shots!
We chose Teresa Alba and Harry Wallace as the two main characters for our film. We chose them because we thought they looked right for the characters in our film, and they are our friends and easy to work with! Here are head shots of them :)

Risk Assesment
What could go wrong???
We will have to make sure we have definite permission to shoot up in Bruce, otherwise we could be kicked out without getting the footage we wanted, not to forget that we would get in BIG trouble!
When working with heights (eg:high angle shot) must be careful.
Check the surfaces is not slippy
or in any way hazardous to prevent this----->
Make sure the weather conditions are safe to be in when shooting outdoors.

Some Location Shots!
These are some of the locations that you will see in our opening scene. We are shooting in and around the school, as it is very accessible to us, and we do not need to seek further permission. However we are planning to do some filming in Bruce House, which will requir Catriona and I to get permission to do so.

Point 20 & 22
Instead of drawning our storyboard, we felt it would be more affective with pictures. so on the day we are shooting we are going to take photos before each shot then print and present nicely. Due to this these Pionts will Not hit the deadline because shooting takes place after the deadline.
Music!
At the moment we are planning on using the a song called Fantastical that we found on Freeplay Music from Rock Grooves Volume 8 however, I think it may be possible that we change the song on a later date if we find one more suited to our film.
I like this one because it starts quite basic but builds up to something interesting, which supports the theme of our film perfectly.

Narrative Theories
After doing research on narrative theories, this is what i found.
A brief outline of the 4 main narrative theorists; Propp, Todorov, Barthes and Levi-Strauss.
I think our film will be a modern combination of all of these narrative theorists showing aspects of each.

Key Elements For Our Film
• The Name of the film must appear at the beginning of the opening titles
• The writer has to be mentioned.
• The Production Company’s name is to be mentioned.
• The Lead Actors Names
• It should hint at the theme/ Genere of the film.
In particular to our Opening Titles.
Music : needs to be upbeat, interesting and exciting
Actors: not to old, not to young. preferibly similar age to target audience (15+)
Colours: need to be bright, fun and eye catching
Action: not telling the whole story in 2 minutes, however giving a hint to story line, but not giving too much away.

The Type of Institutions that would produce, exhibit and distribute our film.
Previously I did some research on our genre 'Independent films' such as "Juno" and during the research I encountered the companies that were commissioned to support Independant films.
Fox Searchlight is a branch of 20th century Fox and it is the the branch that is dedicated to supporting Independent films. They have supported films such as 'Once,' 'Sideways,' 'Juno' and 'Little Miss Sunshine.'
Here is a list of modern independent studios:
Film4 Productions
Lions Gate Films
Summit Entertainment
Overture Films
IFC Films
Samuel Goldwyn Films
The Weinstein Company/Dimension Films
Magnolia Pictures
Palm Pictures
Tartan Films
Newmarket Films
ThinkFilm
Troma Entertainment
First Look Studios
Image Entertainment
Yari Film Group
For our film :
Paper Street Films Production company.
Has Produced films such as 'Detached' which is similair genre and theme
Paramount Pictures has prodcued, distributed and exhibit films such as Mean girls. With a large budget this could be useful in creating our film, the only negetive effect is that pararmount pictures is an american production company. Here at Filmhouse Productions we feel strongly about creating a film set in britain with a british sense of humour running through it.
Channel 4 Television Corporation Although this is a Television Company I feel Channel 4 would embrace the contraversionl nature of this film and also the Bristish essence.

Which Tribe???
On www.findyourtribe.co.uk i came out as a "Rah"
However i think the audience for this film should be a combination of tribes.
Rahs, Casuals, Trendies, Chavs and possibly Townies!

Audience Research
What attracts people to Films and what puts them off?
I did some research about 'What attracts people to films and what puts them off' and this involved carrying out a questionnare with the people in my school. I asked the questions: 'What attracts you to films? What puts you off films? And What are the best opening titles you have ever seen.' Although people struggled to come up with the best opening titles they have seen, they told me a few descriptive words that they felt best summed up a good opening to a film:
"Original and good trailer"
"Un Predictable"
"When you see the end at the beginning and then it explains the story, and shows the beginning again at the end"
'Things like Love Actually when lots of stories are combined and meet at the end"
'The plot is very important and shocking beginnings.'
'When you are having fun watching it.'
'Good acting, clever plots such as inception"
'Genre and funny opening.'
Here are things that people said that are bad about films and their openings:
'Too predictable.'
'Too dark, depressing and I hate subtitles.'
'Scary films always have bad acting'
'Bad continuity, dont make sense.'
'Boring.'
'Cheesiness.'
